This team is eligible to participate in the SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship, the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship (pending qualifiers) and the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, along with other invitational tournaments.

The SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship serves as a preparation for the Asian Football Confederation U-16 Championship Qualifier. Making it to the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship is of prime importance as the top 3 teams from the Championship gain automatic qualification to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

India are the reigning champions of the SAFF U-15 Championship, having won it on two out of three occasions. India had beaten Bangladesh in the finals on both these occasions (2018 and 2019).
