The Junior Girls' National Football Championship was first introduced in the year 2001, which was held in Goa. All affiliated State Associations of the AIFF are eligible to participate in this championship through the two tiers of the competition which is played across the country annually.
Manipur have won 11 of the 17 titles, including the most recent Tier 1 tournament held in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, in the 2024-25 season. They beat Jharkhand 2-0 in the final to lift the trophy.
The Tier 2 of the Junior Girls' NFC 2024-25 was held in Belgaum, Karnataka. Telangana beat Manipur 4-2 on penalties in the final to win their first-ever NFC trophy. Rajasthan beat Karnataka 3-1 in the final to win their first-ever women's NFC trophy.
