About IWL 2

The Indian Women’s League 2 (IWL 2) is the second tier of club competition in women’s football in India, which began in the 2023-24 season. The teams top two teams in the IWL 2 earn promotion to the IWL, which is the premier division.

The inaugural edition of IWL 2 saw participation from 15 teams, who were divided into three groups of five each in the Group Stage. The top two teams from each group qualified for the Final Rounds, where the six sides played against each other in a round-robin format.

Sribhumi FC finished champions of the inaugural edition, while Nita Football Academy ended as the runners-up, thus promoting the two clubs to the IWL in the 2024-25 season.
