With her tall and powerful frame, teenage sensation Martina Thokchom is a palpable figure in midfield. She excels at releasing defence-splitting passes and also cherishes scoring from headers.
Martina was part of the India U-17 team until 2020 and played in the U-17 Women's Football Friendly Tournament in Mumbai, where India finished runners-up to Sweden. She earned her first call-up to the senior side in early 2021 and made her debut in October as a substitute in India's 4-1 friendly win over UAE.
Since then, Martina has been a regular member of the senior camp in their tours abroad. She made her first start for India, playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 loss to Venezuela at the Brazil International Women's Football Tournament in December 2021.
