One of the most talented and crafty midfielders that India currently possess, Anirudh Thapa will forever remember the game against Thailand in 2019, when he scored his first goal for India and the teams third goal in the AFC Asian Cup opener. His importance has kept on growing in the national setup ever since.

Born in the late 1990s, Thapa started to play football from a very young age. His talents were quickly picked up from people around the country and he was made the captain of the AIFF Elite Academy in the U-19 I-League. Thapa signed with ISL club Chennaiyin FC and has had a strong bond with them. He continues to play for Chennaiyin to this day.

Thapa has represented India at almost every age group, starting in 2012 in India U-17s to the senior national team. He was a part of the Indian U-16 squad that won the SAFF Championship in 2013.
