Brandon Fernandes made his debut for India much later than expected, on 5th June 2019, at the King's Cup 2019 against Curacao under head coach Igor Stimac, having represented the nation at youth level and his home state Goa in the Lusophony Games 2014, winning gold.
Renowned for his creativity and set-piece taking abilities, Brandon has scored and assisted a number of goals from dead-ball situations. However, he has had to come through a lot of obstacles to get to this stage. Brandon Fernandes made his senior club debut for Sporting Goa in 2015. Switches to other clubs followed but it was finally at FC Goa in 2017 that Fernandes started finding his feet.
He started to make his mark in the team as he became one of the chief creators. One of the highlights for Brandon was when he scored the winning goal for them in the final of the Hero Super Cup 2019 against Chennaiyin FC. In April 2021, Brandon was again a part of history as he assisted Edu Bedia's goal which was the first by an Indian club in AFC Champion's Leagues group stages.
Fernandes has represented India across various youth levels and impressed almost everyone along the way as well. He has made a mark in the senior team as well and will now be looking to build on the hard work he has done throughout the years.
