The former TATA Football Academy cadet started playing football as a striker before he was deployed as a defensive midfielder where he eventually excelled. He represented India in U-23 age group thrice besides making his senior team debut against Sri Lanka in the SAFF Suzuki Cup 2018. He went on to lead the team against Qatar in a friendly match before the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers in Uzbekistan. He was a member of the India squad in the AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 also.
