NEW DELHI: 20 Players have been selected for the Indian U-16 Women’s National Team for the AFC U-16 Qualifiers in Wei Fang, China, after a National Camp took place in Patiala, Punjab and will leave Indian shores on August 25, 2016 for China.
India’s road in the AFC U-16 Qualifiers sees the Indian eves clubbed in Group B alongside Philippines, Malaysia, Northern Marina Islands and Korea Republic.
The Indian eves clash swords against Philippines in their opening match of the AFC U-16 Qualifiers on August 28, 2016, before taking on Malaysia, Northern Mariana Islands and Korea Republic on September 01, 03, and 05, respectively.
“We are facing Teams like Korea (Republic) and Malaysia, hence we have to be on top of our game if we are to defeat them”, Head Coach Maymol Rocky had earlier told www.the-aiff.com.
“There is no room for complacency”
Reflecting on the squad at hand, Maymol had said, “The girls are like rough diamonds. They have the potential to go a long way, but they need to work hard in order to evolve”
