PUNE:  Milan Basumatary’s hat trick and Daniel Lalhlimpuia’s brace led the AIFF Elite Academy to a rampaging 6-0 win over Chanmari FC in the U-19 I-League on Monday (May 4, 2015) at DSK Campus, Pune.

The Academy boys displayed their true intentions of attacking in numbers and with fluidity, from the word go. And in the 5th Milan Basumatary’s rocket-of-a-shot rattled the crossbar and rang danger bells for Chanmari FC.

The floodgates were opened in 14th Minute, when a lacklustre Chanmari defence allowed Milan to deliver a teasing ball into Daniel’s path; only for the lucrative to direct the ball towards the unguarded net.

The AIFF Elite Academy doubled their lead in 35th Minute, when Milan’s radar found a unmarked Rakesh Oram in the box. The former released a teasing through ball for the latter, who burst onto goal and blasted his opportunity past a clueless Goalkeeper.

In the thick of action; it was Oram’s time to give back the good turn by setting Milan Basumatary up to score a easy sitter on an inch-perfect cut back after dribbling past two defenders with lung bursting speed.

The fourth came five minutes before the break, as a corner from Suman Sarkar was confidently headed in from narrow angle by Milan Basumatary to complete his brace.

At the half time the score read 4-0 in the favour of the Academy boys.

With a game effectively won before the half time, The AIFF Elite academy introduced Kamalpreet Singh and Delbert to accelerate the proceedings for them.

Nevertheless, the Academy boys once again stretched their lead to five goals when a quick exchanges of passes on top of the box between Delbert and Milan found Daniel free and unmarked to complete his brace. The fantastic move culminated with a marvellous chip over the advancing goal keeper.

In the injury time, it was Milan Basumatary again who steered a low shot past the opponent Goalkeeper to complete his hattrick.

The AIFF Elite Academy will clash swords against United SC on May 6, 2015.
