Background:
India is proud to be hosting the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2022. This is the third most important event of the FIFA calendar for Women’s Competitions, with 16 countries playing a total of 32 games. The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup has been a key stepping stone in the careers of a large part of world football stars and will be one of the most important events ever to be hosted in Indian football history. The tournament has a huge worldwide reach and is a golden opportunity to showcase to the world, our cities, culture and the capability of organizing an event meeting the highest standards.
Undoubtedly, the FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup will have a lasting influence on Indian Football and is primed to be a game changer for the Football Vision in India through upgradation of infrastructure, improved game operations standards and refining the overall quality of the game.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the LOC General Medical Officer (GMO) in the delivery and management of the overall 24/7 medical and anti-doping services for all stakeholder groups of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 (Participating Member Associations (PMAs), VVIP/VIPs, media, spectators, etc.) at various locations as per the FIFA tournament guidelines for medical and anti-doping.
- Support the GMO in liaising with relevant government authorities and manage & maintain relationships with all the concerned medical facilities and service providers in various host cities of the tournament.
- Assist the GMO in the identification, appointment and other administrative processes with regards to the ‘Designated Hospitals’ in the respective host cities for the tournament.
- Work alongside the GMO in the preparation of the Medical and Anti-Doping Plan and relevant documents for the tournament.
- Participate in various meetings, seminars, conferences, workshops and trainings.
- Assist the GMO in providing information to FIFA/PMAs on licensing requirements and import/export regulations for medication and equipment and facilitation of processes to ensure that they fall within the host country national regulations.
- Keep track and facilitate delivery of various additional medical requirements during the tournament.
- Prepare formats and maintain records for tournament time reporting on various medical matters.
- Provide support for any other relevant medical and anti-doping matters for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022 as and when reasonably required.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum Three (3) years’ experience in administration and coordination of medical services.
- Prior work experience in Bio bubble management and implementing covid-19 protocols a plus.
- Experience in administration and coordination with hospitals, government agencies for international sports tournaments or leagues, especially in football is a plus;
- Demonstrated stakeholder relationship management and prior experience working with sporting delegations;
- Ability to multitask, strong time management and organizational skills;
- Ability to solve problems, negotiations and conflict resolutions;
- Must demonstrate a flexible, “hands-on” approach to work – prepared to carry out duties in support of his/ her team at any time of the day;
- Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people in different roles;
- Ability to multitask, strong time management and organizational skills;
- High Level knowledge of Microsoft Office Platform, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
