NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation conducted an Integrity Workshop for the young guns of the Indian U-17 World Cup Squad at the AIFF Headquarters in the Capital on February 01, 2016.

The Workshop, aimed to introduce the Indian colts in how to safeguard themselves from manipulations in the sport, whilst maintaining decorum throughout, was conducted by AIFF’s Integrity Officer Javed Siraj in attendance of Nicolai Adam, Head Coach of the Indian U-17 World Cup Squad.

Speaking on the occasion, AIFF’s Integrity Officer Javed Siraj said, “Integrity is essential as it promotes achievement by merit and fair play. It protects the ‘beautiful game’ and helps to build confidence through merit”

“We should be honest to ourselves and to the sport, as it helps in extending the outreach of the game”

“One should recognize, reject and report, if there is manipulation in the game and inform to the authorities as soon as possible”

The Indian Colts were all ears to the workshop, which also stressed on the evils of match-fixing, its consequences and the traps laid by the fixers to lure Players into match-fixing.

The Integrity Workshop, according to Head Coach Nicolai Adam, who was in a pensive mood all throughout the session, was “extremely helpful and informative”

“The Workshop was very educative as it helped the Players to learn about Integrity and what happens if there is a breach of it”

“Unfortunately match fixing is a topic in the World of Football and in order to prepare our Team for evading it, the session was really informative and necessary”, Nicolai told www.the-aiff.com

“We want to show our best, we don’t want to fix anything, we want to play honest Football and as long as it is honest, people love it. And that is what matters”

“We have to play honest Football for the sake of Football”, Nicolai stressed.

“The Players should not hamper their careers only for the sake of money and this Workshop educated the Players in that by telling the consequences”

“Integrity is a serious matter and you have to be careful in maintaining it as any indecisive decision here or there can hamper your whole Footballing career”, Nicolai stated.

Furthermore, the Indian colts signed the AIFF Integrity Declaration Form testifying their compliance to the AIFF's Code of Ethics.
