NEW DELHI: Seven-time SAFF Champions India begin their campaign in the 2018 SAFF Suzuki Cup against Sri Lanka on September 05, 2018 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The defending Champions were clubbed in Group B alongside Sri Lanka and Maldives in the draw for the 2018 SAFF Suzuki Cup that happened yesterday in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Moreover, India face Sri Lanka on September 05 in the Group B opener and the seven-time champions will square off against Maldives on September 09, 2018.

While Group A of the 2018 SAFF Suzuki Cup sees Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan, and hosts Bangladesh pitted against each other. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals, which are slated to kick-off on September 12, 2018.

India lifted the SAFF Suzuki Cup for the record seventh time in 2015 when they defeated Afghanistan 2-1 in added extra time in a thrilling final. As well as winning a record seven times India have been runners up three times while hosts Bangladesh, Maldives, and Sri Lanka have each lifted the coveted trophy once.
