NEW DELHI: A Referee Development Course 2017 jointly organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Mizoram Football Association (MFA) began today (August 14) at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Aizawl. This course, which will last 6 days was opened my Mr. H. Thangchungnunga, Sports Promotion Officer, Mizoram State Sports Council.
The opening function was conducted by MFA Referee Committee Chairman Mr. C. Vanlalmawia. MFA Hony. Secretary Mr. Lalnghinglova Hmar stated that Mizo footballers can reach national and international level, and now we need referees who can reach that level.
He also thanked the AIFF and spoke of the various conveniences enjoyed by referees in Indian football, and with hardwork and dedication, referees can earn substantial amounts even from Asia and FIFA.
The course has 70 youths who are aspiring referees. Mr. S. Mohanty, Referee Assessor and Bikramjit P, Referee Instructor have arrived from AIFF Referee Department to aid the experts from the MFA Referee Committee.
The opening of this course was attended by referees from districts outside of Aizawl as well as the youth from various towns far outside Aizawl.
