NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation conducted the National Exam for Referees 2024 at the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) in Gwalior, from April 14 to 17.
Over 300 nominations were received from across five zones – north, south, east, west, and northeast. Over 240 nominees were selected for the zonal fitness tests, out of which, 64 referees and 96 assistant referees appeared for the final fitness test and theory exams.
Twenty-four referees (22 male and two female), and 28 assistant referees (21 male and seven female) successfully passed the final process.
AIFF Referees Committee Chairperson Mr. K. Sankar and Deputy Chairperson Mr. S.M. Balu were present to oversee the proceedings, which were conducted by five Zonal Referees Development Officers (ZRDO), one from each zone, along with referee instructors Bikramjit Singh, K. Sankar, and Naveen Sundi, and fitness instructors Binod Kumar Singh, and Bharat Singh Negi.
The men referees and assistant referees, who passed the national exam will take their practical assessment at the ongoing Swami Vivekananda U20 Men’s National Football Championship, while the women referees and assistant referees who passed the exam will appear for their practical assessment at the ongoing 28th Senior Women’s NFC for Rajmata Jijabai Trophy 2023-24 Final Round.
