NEW DELHI: Manipur and Odisha will vie against each other in the Finals of the Junior National Football Championship for Girls on October 21, 2015 in Goa. The kick-off for which is at 7:30AM IST.

Both contingents are undefeated in their campaign thus far and while Manipur defeated Delhi 4-2 in the Semi-Finals, Odisha steamrolled Bihar 4-1.

Drawn in Group A alongside Pondicherry and Punjab, Manipur started their campaign with a mammoth 20-0 thumping of Pondicherry. Meanwhile, Odisha were clubbed in Group B alongwith Karnataka and Chandigarh, and opened their campaign with a 10-0 win over Chandigarh.

Thereafter both Contingents dominated their Group stage matches and Quarter Finals matches. For Manipur a 5-4 win over Maharashtra, a 6-0 drubbing of Jharkhand and a 12-0 hammering of Bihar was enough to see them progress into the Semi-Finals. As for Odisha, a 3-1 win over Mizoram, a narrow 2-1 win over Goa and a solitary goal win over Delhi saw them through to the Semi-Finals.

The Final will also be a showdown between two of the highest goal scoring and attacking Teams of the competition as Manipur have scored a humongous 67 goals in 6 matches, while Odisha lag behind with 31 goals in 6 matches.

The Junior National Football Championship for Girls also provides a platform for the young crop to showcase their sterling talent in a competitive environment, paving a way for them to develop and evolve into better Players.
