Indian U-16 Colts thump 11 past Al-Hamriyah SC U-16

NEW DELHI: It was raining goals in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Friday (December 04, 2015) as the Indian U-17 World Cup squad thumped Al-Hamriyah Sports Club U-16 11-0 in their first match of the exposure trip.

The Indian colts took an early lead in the match as they were awarded a penalty kick following an uncanny challenge on Aman. Captain Amarjeet Singh calmly slotted the ball past the opponent’s custodian to hand the Indian contingent a solitary lead.

Three minutes later, the Indian colts doubled their lead as Aman tapped home a delicious cross from the right flank by Aniket.

With the Indian colts controlling the tempo of the game and already two goals up in less than 10 minutes, fluid attacks and solid defending became a common sight. And in the 19th minute, Amarjeet scored delightfully chipped the ball over the opponent’s custodian to give the Indian colts an unassailable three goal lead.

The Indian colts scored in quick successions in the dying embers of the first half as first Aman did justice to his chance following an essayed Boris cross in the 33rd minute; which was shortly followed up once again by Aman as he tapped home a Suresh cross to complete his hattrick and make the half-time scoreline read 5-0.

With the match comprising two halves of 40 minutes each, the Indian colts took off from where they left – attacking. And in the 41st minute, substitute Saurabh scored to make it 6-0.

While many would pull plugs, the Indian Colts continued to haunt the opponent’s defence lines. Two back to back goals by Rahim Ali and Abhijit respectively made it 8-0 in less than 50 minutes for the Indian colts.

The Indian Colts, hot on their heels cut through the Arab defence line like knife on butter. Shortly after, the Colts once again scored in quick successions to make the score-line read 10-0, courtesy a Saurabh goal in the 69th and a Rahim Ali goal in the 70th minute.

Three minutes later, Rahim Ali completed his hattrick as he blasted a well-time ball past a hapless goalkeeper. With the remaining time nothing but formality, the Colts dominated possession and saw the match out. The full-time scoreline read 11-0.
