NEW DELHI: The two-day I-League Match Officials Workshop concluded in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
The workshop, aimed at providing essential training and updates to match officials, ensuring they are well-prepared for the upcoming season, was attended by 19 referees, 21 assistant referees, 14 referee assessors, Referee Directing Staff, and an AIFF Referees’ Committee observer.
The workshop dealt with various topics, including match officiating guidelines for the upcoming season, participant behaviour expectations, fouls and conduct, and fitness and performance tests.
The chairperson of the AIFF Referees’ Committee, Mr. Sankar K said: “I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for AIFF leadership and the Football Association of Odisha in organising this hugely successful workshop. Their dedication to our match officials' continuous development and training is truly commendable.
“This workshop will undoubtedly empower our referees and match officials to perform at their highest level in the upcoming season. Our vision to improve the quality and consistency of match officiating is a key factor in the growth and success of the I-League. This workshop exemplifies the commitment towards it.”
