27 Oct 2024

KOLKATA: Hyderabad FC hammered Mohammedan Sporting 4-0 to register their first win of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 season at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

On a night where the hosts took the field in search of their maiden home win, it was Allan Paulista, who scored a brilliant brace with Stefan Sapic and Parag Shrivas also joining the goal-scoring bonanza. Paulista was named the Key Performer of the Match.

Thangboi Singto’s men initiated the groundwork for a brilliant win when Allan Paulista capitalised on goalkeeper Padam Chettri’s mistake to hand the visitors an early lead in the fourth minute.

Hyderabad FC piled more pressure on Mohammedan SC’s backline and they were duly rewarded in the 12th minute when Stefan Sapic rose high to head home the second goal from a Cy Goddard corner.

Three minutes after the second goal, Paulista added another to his tally after Parag Shrivas found the Brazilian unmarked in the final third.

The visitors added another goal to their scoresheet in the 51st minute when Parag Shrivas combined with Alba to produce a long-range missile.

Hyderabad FC will host Mohun Bagan Super Giant on October 30. Mohammedan Sporting will be in action against East Bengal on November 9.

NorthEast United FC outclass Jamshedpur FC 5-0

GUWAHATI: NorthEast United FC produced a majestic performance in front of their home supporters at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium to round off a thoroughly convincing 5-0 victory against Jamshedpur FC.

This is the club’s biggest win in ISL history and the first time they have scored five goals in a game in the competition.

NorthEast United were helped by the Red Miners being reduced to 10 men with defender Stephen Eze getting sent off in the 29th minute.

However, the Juan Pedro Benali-coached team had already gotten the lead thanks to the opening strike five minutes into the game by Key Performer of the Match Alaaeddine Ajaraie.

NorthEast United FC youngster Parthib Gogoi had an impressive evening as he brought up a brace to reach 10 ISL goals – the most by any player in the league before turning 22. His goals came in the 44th and 55th minutes.

Substitute Macarton Nickson struck the fourth goal through an assist by Hamza Regragui in the 82nd minute and Ajaraie wrapped up the proceedings by nailing the fifth goal in the 90th minute.

NorthEast United FC will next play against Odisha FC on November 3, whereas Jamshedpur FC are set to lock horns with Chennaiyin FC the following day.
