NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation completed a four-day Online Refresher Course for the first batch of AFC/AIFF 'C’ license coaches consisting 120 candidates on Saturday, June 26, 2021. The course which is part of the revalidation process, initiated at last year’s International Virtual Coaching Conference, ensures that participating coaches are awarded 2 CPD points.
Due to an overwhelming response, the AIFF opened the application process to coaches across India from any zone with participation decided on a first-come-first-serve basis. From over 200 applications, the first 120 candidates were selected and divided into 4 batches of 30 each.
Four sessions were conducted via Zoom by coach educators, Mr. Mariano Dias, Mr. Shakti Chauhan, Mr. Sajid Dar, Mr. Bijiish Ben, Mr. Uttam Singh Negi and Mr. Goutam Ghosh. The topics covered included: Coaching styles, Shadow play, Importance of Small-Sided-Games (SSG) in modern football, Analysing the game and Football Periodisation.
The Online Refresher Course for the next batch of coaches is due to start on Monday, June 28th, 2021 and will conclude on July 3rd, 2021. Interested candidates can apply via the Coach Education Portal.
To ensure maximum participation from coaches holding the AFC/AIFF 'C' diploma, the AIFF has planned multiple refresher courses which will likely continue till August.
