Do Dong Hurts Mariners Again To Open The Title Race

SILIGURI: Kingfisher East Bengal rode a Do Dong brace (40′, 73′) to prevail over their arch rivals Mohun Bagan 2-1 in the Kolkata Derby played at the at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri on Saturday. Yusa Kastumi did pull one back fo Bagan in the 82nd minute. Jeje Lalpekhlua got an opportunity to salvage a draw for the Mariners from the penalty spot in injury time but an agile East Bengal Goalkeeper Jude Baretto defied him to left the title race wide open.

Kingfisher East Bengal coach Biswajit Bhattacharya made four changes from their last win against Aizawl FC. Rahul Bheke and Arnab Mondal featured in the defence in place of Harmanjot Singh Khabra and Sehnaj Singh. Shylo Mama and Joaquim Abranches were dropped in favour of Cavin Lobo and Sanju Pradhan. Bernard Mendy started up front as an auxiliary striker alongside Ranti Martins.
