AIFF XI face Frenz United, Indonesia in Bandu

NEW DELHI: AIFF XI, represented by All India Football Federation’s Kalyani Regional Academy boys will take on Frenz United Indonesia in an away-match of the Asia Champions Trophy 2014 in Bandu, Indonesia on Saturday (July 5).

Underling the importance of the match, Head Coach Goutam Ghosh maintained it will be another “learning experience” for his wards.

“The format stays the beauty of the Championship. Every week the boys are getting to play a different opposition in a different Country. The travelling, the weather, the conditions are the challenges which we need to overcome,” he told www.the-aiff.com.

AIFF Academy boys arrived in Bandu on Thursday, a small suburban town some 300kms from Jakarta.

“Our learning curve is going stronger. This will be another learning process for us. Boys are learning and getting stronger with every match,” he added.

Meanwhile, AIFF XI Goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh celebrated his 15th birthday on Friday along with all his Teammates.

The last match the two Teams met, Frenz United, Indonesia, trailing by a goal till the 82nd minute scored two in the last seven minutes to eventually prevail 2-1.
