NEW DELHI: The AIFF U-17 Colts started their U-18 I-League Final Phase campaign on a winning note as they hammered Sports Authority of India (SAI) Guwahati 3-0 at the Howrah Ground in Kolkata on January 27, 2016.

Although the Indian Colts attacked with fluidity and tried to breach SAI’s defences with virtually every attack, the breakthrough came late in the first half as Edmund scored in the 41^st minute to make the half-time score-line read 1-0.

In the 57^th minute, the Indian Colts doubled their lead as Prosenjit’s cross from the right flank found Bedeshwor in the 18 yard box. Bedeshwor, after exquisitely controlling the cross, wriggled his way through the defensive mix and blasted his chance home to make it 2-0.

With the Indian colts dominating the tempo of the match and riding on a two goal lead cushion the result of the match became beyond doubt. Nevertheless, the Indian Colts scored a third goal in the 87^th minute as cheeky Bodo flick found its way into the back of the net following a Surya corner kick.

The full-time score-line read 3-0 as the Indian colts scripted their first win of the U-18 I-League Final Phase. The AIFF U-17 Colts will clash swords against DSK Shivajians U-18 next on January 29, 2016 at the Howrah Ground in Kolkata.
