NEW DELHI: The AIFF U17 Colts continued their sterling form in the U-18 I-League as they defeated Dempo SC 2-0 on November 05, 2015 at the Nagoa Ground in Goa.
Coming on the back of a 2-0 win over SAI U18, the AIFF Colts sealed the match in the first half itself as they scored two goals to take home the three points.
However, it were their opponents, Dempo SC, who almost drew first blood as they were awarded a penalty in early minutes of the match following an Amit Tudu foul in the 18 yard box. Tamaal Naskar, the Indian custodian, however had other plan as he made a fantastic save to deny Dempo the lead.
In the 17th minute, the Colts took the lead as Jerry, after exquisitely controlling an Abhishek cross from the right flank, slotted his opportunity past the opponent custodian.
Relentless pressure fused with attacking fluidity was bound to reap dividends for the Indian colts and in the 42nd minute the Colts doubled their lead as Bodo Baoringdao tapped home a low cross.
With the colts leading 2-0 at half-time the second half became nothing but a formality. Both Teams cancelled each other out for the remainder of the match as the full-time scoreline read 2-0 in favor of the AIFF U17 Colts.
The AIFF Colts face Sporting Goa next in their third match of the U-18 I-League on November 12, 2015.
