NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation will conduct an AFC Goalkeeping Level 1 Course from March 21-26, 2016 in Goa, in a quest to produce able Goalkeeping Coaches, who in turn will help develop stellar Goalkeeping talents.
The last date of application is February 24, 2016.
Since the last two years, the AIFF has conducted three Level 1 Courses and one Level 2 Course. The Level 1 Course is a basic Goalkeeping Course for a Goalkeeping Coach, and is followed by the Level 2 Course, which further zooms in on the technicalities in the field of Goalkeeping. As of now, India has 50 AFC GK Level 1 Coaches and 16 AFC GK Level 2 Coaches.
“We need to train more GK coaches in order to develop better GK's in India by exposing them to the latest methods in coaching keepers.”, AIFF’s Technical Director Scott O’Donell told www.the-aiff.com.
“Like football in general, coaching methodologies are constantly changing and we need to keep up to date with what is happening.”, he added.
