The Ladakh FA was founded last year, shortly after the region gained Union Territory status. Ladakh FA's Tsering Angmo, India's first female General Secretary for an AIFF Member MA expressed her immense happiness in hosting their first ever AIFF Coaching Course in Leh.
"Even though we have gained our independent status recently, we are dedicated to promoting football in the region and that is evident in the way we have nominated women from all regions of our Union Territory and ensured maximum representation for all groups irrespective of age, religion, race or creed. Our goal is to ensure that these women are empowered and go on to impact the grassroots development of this region in a positive manner." said Angmo.
The AIFF Grassroots Department provided aid to the newcomers Ladhak FA in the form of 48 balls, 100 Disk Markers + Cones, and 50 Bibs for the course and for subsequent use in grassroots activities in the region.
It is the first ever Coaching Course which was held in Leh, Ladakh, conducted by the LFA since its formation last year. It is also the first All-Women's Program (in any sport) conducted in the region with the multi-ethnic group which includes diverse backgrounds featuring candidates from multiple districts (Leh and Kargil) across the Union Territory, according to AIFF Lead Coach Educator Shailesh Karkera.
