All India Football Federation condoles the death of former FIFA Referee Mr. Sailendra Kumar Bhattacharya who passed away this morning in Chandernagore, West Bengal.
He was 88.
Mr. Bhattacharya, an eminent Indian Referee and had even Officiated in the Asian Games in Tehran in 1974.
AIFF General Secretary, Mr. Kushal Das said: “Mr. Bhattacharya will be alive in his achievements. He has been the inspiration of so many Referees. May His Soul Rest in Peace.”
At the domestic front, Mr. Bhattaharya, also officiated in many a crucial clash involving Mohun Bagan and East Bengal, including matches in the IFA Shield, Durand Cup and DCM Trophy.
