18 shortlisted for AFC U-14 Girl's Regional Championship

NEW DELHI: 18 members have been shortlisted for the Indian U-14 Women’s National Team Squad for the AFC U-14 Girl’s Regional Championship, following a preparatory Camp in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat.

The AFC U-14 Girl’s Regional Championship is slated to kick-off in Kathmandu, Nepal from April 20, 2015. And India have been clubbed in Group B alongside Bhutan and Bangladesh.

The Indian Eves will square off against Bhutan in their opening encounter on April 20, 2015 and will clash swords against Bangladesh, a day later, on April 21, 2015.

Head Coach Maymol Rocky was content with the Squad selection and said: “We are prepared and ready for the challenge ahead. We have a talented squad and all we need to do now is play and win. We will work hard to achieve our goal; that is to win the Championship”

The 18 member list follows:

DEFENDERS:Aparna Roy(Kerala),Soni Kumari(Bihar),Santi Murmi(Odisha),Janaki Murmu(Odisha),Eva Panna(Odisha).

MIDFIELDERS:Rabiya(Manipur),Samiksha(Haryana),BannyaKabiraj(Odisha),Laxmi Devi Yumnam(Manipur),

Nisha Kumari(Bihar).

FORWARDS:Soumya Guguloth(Andhra Pradesh),Karishma Rai(Sikkim),Thailand Yumlembam(Manipur),Somaaya Mukundan(Goa),Bhagyashree Dalvi(WIFA),Sushmita Jadhav(Goa).
