WIFA conducts two Grassroots Courses

NEW DELHI: The Western India Football Association conducted two AIFF Grassroots Courses as part of the ‘AIFF Month of Grassroots Football’ celebrations. The courses were conducted in Aurangabad district from May 10 till 12 and in Mumbai from the May 17 till 19 respectively.

This is the 3rd and 4th Grassroots courses held in Maharashtra since initiating the program last year.

The Instructor for both the Courses was Kundan Chandra, Development Officer with WIFA and AIFF GR instructor.

In Aurangabad, the Course was conducted for the Grassroots coaches from adjoining districts and a total of 23 coaches attended the Course.

In Mumbai, a total of 24 coaches attended the GR course conducted which was conducted for coaches from across Mumbai.

The month of May has been designated by the AIFF as the “Month of Grassroots Football” in alignment with the AFC Grassroots Day on the 15th of May. The initiative has been an overwhelming success with 5 Grassroots courses conducted already plus one course beginning in Punjab from May 23 till 25 and also a large number of Grassroots festivals conducted across the country.
