West Bengal, Jharkhand reach the penultimate round of Sub-Jr Girls’ NFC Tier 1

MALDA/BERHAMPORE: The semi-final line-up of the Sub-junior Girls’ National Football Championship Tier 1 was completed on Saturday, September 7, 2024, with hosts West Bengal and Jharkhand bagged full points in their respective matches to finish the group stage with a clean record.

While West Bengal topped Group C with nine points from three matches after a resounding 10-0 win over Chhattisgarh, in Group D, Jharkhand also pumped in 10 goals against Punjab to record their third straight win.

In the semi-finals to be played on Monday, September 9, 2024, Manipur will take on West Bengal and Bihar will play Jharkhand.

For West Bengal, Antara Dolui, Mousumi Khatun, and Malita Munda scored thrice each, while Supriya Halder scored the other.

For Jharkhand, Deepika Kumari (3), Sabrina Kumari (2), Tritika Tiu (2), Sonal Munda, Priti Kumari and Swati Munda found the goals.

Karnataka begin with a bang in Sub Jr Boys’ NFC 2024-25 Tier 1

BENGALURU: Karnataka outclassed Bihar 17-0 in Group A on the opening day of the Sub-Junior Boys’ National Football Championship Tier 1 in Bengaluru.

Arvidrian Samwanki Lato (3), Rishaan Chaudhri (3), Jordan Paul Mobin (3), S Monish (3), CH Sakip (2), Aayush Kothari (2), and Naradulla Akshat Reddy were the scorers.

In Group C, Delhi humbled Mizoram 5-2 with Taibang Nganba (3), Ahsh Raj Singh and Macdonnish Ngairangbam scoring for the winners. C Lalhmingroupia and Abraham Malsawmhlua were Mizoram’s marksmen.

Telangana, Assam win in Sub Jr Boys’ NFC 2024-25 Tier 2

JORHAT: Telangana began their Group A campaign with a 7-3 win over Lakshadweep, while Assam beat Madhya Pradesh 6-1 in the same group. Syed Riyan did the bulk of the scoring for Telangana with four goals. Faisal Khan Mustafakhan got the other three goals. Mohammed Sinan KP, Thoufeeque KI and Mohammed Yaseen were Lakshadweep’s goalscorers.

For Assam, Samuel Daimari got a brace, while Tanmoy Boruah, Rahul Balmiki, Sahir Kujur and Tamash Daimary scored one each. The lone consolation goal for Madhya Pradesh came from Rohit Kumar Parte.
