NEW DELHI: A defeat can be a flattening experience. Especially so when you are three goals up at half-time. But they are not counting themselves out as they are all set to face Bhutan tomorrow (September 22) in their second encounter.
India U-18 suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Bangladesh in the SAFF U-18 Championship opener, that too after conceding in the final minute. While their opponents, Bhutan have won both their matches so far.
“Any loss is disappointing but what matters is how you bounce back from it”, stated Head Coach Floyd Pinto.
“The boys are unhappy at the defeat but I’m sure we will show what we are capable of against Bhutan. As far as rest of the tournament goes. We will take it one game at a time”, added Pinto.
The boys in Bhutan have their task cut out for them with they requiring a win rest of the matches to have a chance at securing the Championship.
The team will head to the AFC U-19 Qualifiers after this tournament which begins on November 4 in Saudi Arabia.
