U-17 World Cup Squad to play exhibition match in New Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Indian U-17 World Cup Squad under Head Coach Nicolai Adam will be clashing swords against Sports Authority of India (SAI) in an exhibition match on February 02, 2016 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, as part of the second phase of scouting aimed to zero down on the Footballing talent across the demography of India.

Out of three exhibition matches played in India, the U-17 World Cup Squad has won two, against Maharashtra XI (8-0 win) and IFA XI (2-0 win), and has drawn one, against NorthEast XI (1-1 draw),thus acting as a value addition to the second phase of scouting which the AIFF is already conducting in association with its member Associations.

Talking exclusively to www.the-aiff.com, All India Football Federation’s Director of Scouting, Abhishek Yadav expressed that, “Scouting stays integral for the development of Indian Football and the U-17 World Cup Squad in general”

“The ongoing second phase of scouting has already given us an opportunity to unearth talent, and the Players will catch our eye will be send for medical tests as soon as possible”

“The exhibition matches are part of the second phase of scouting, providing us with an overview of the Players present in the State Teams and how they will fare against the U-17 Squad”

“We are specifically look for 2000 born kids to play in these exhibition matches and also for the second phase of scouting”, Yadav concluded.
