NEW DELHI: All India Football Federation’s U-15 Kolkata Regional Academy defeated Kolkata’s Bidhannagar Academy by a solitary goal in a Friendly Match played at the Pailan World School Campus. Bidhannagar Academy were represented by their U-19 boys.
Jerry scored the winner from a 30-yarder left-footed free-kick to register the Academy’s fourth consecutive victory. They had earlier beaten Prayag United’s U-19 Team, East Bengal’s U-19 Team and Khidderpore Club’s Senior Team.
The U-15 Regional Academy boys are presently preparing for U-16 International Competitions. They would first be playing at U-16 SAFF Championship in July and then at the AFC U-16 Qualifiers in September.
Head Coach Gautam Ghosh lauded his boys for their discipline on the field. “They are 14-year old boys but are a very disciplined unit. These matches are the best possible manner to gauge your progress and I must say, the boys are making us proud,” he said.
“But I want to reiterate, these matches are all part of a learning process. This may be our fourth consecutive win but results stay immaterial when you are a Developmental Team,” he added.
