NEW DELHI: A stoppage time goal from Abhijit Sarkar helped All India Football Federation’s U-14 Regional Academy Boys hold U-17 Team of Our lady of Perpetual High school to a 1-1 draw in a Friendly Match at the Chowgule Sports Complex.

This was the last game of the Preparatory Camp for both the teams who will be participating in this year’s Subroto Mukherjee tournament in New Delhi.

An Jitendra Singh own goal gave the U-17 Boys the lead at the stroke of halftime in an otherwise lopsided affair where AIFF’s U-13 Boys controlled the game.

In the dying minutes of the match, a free kick was awarded to Goa Academy when striker Shubham Sarangi was tripped just outside the area. Attacking midfielder Abhijit Sarkar stepped up to take the 20-yard free kick and made no mistake in curling it past the goalkeeper in the 61st minute, earning a well deserved draw for the Boys U-14 Goa Regional Academy.
