NEW DELHI: All India Football Federation (AIFF) U-14 Regional Academy Teams won and drew in their latest Friendly matches played at the Chowgule Sports Complex in Goa over the weekend.
While the Team A thrashed St. Alex, Curtorim 6-1 courtesy goals in both halves from Abhijit who scored a brace either side of halftime, Sudipta, Shahjahan, Alex, and Abuthaheer.
The Academy Boys were a goal down inside the opening 16 minutes but came back and how to steal a march over their rivals in clinical fashion.
In the second game, a touring Chandigarh Football Academy (CFA) gave Team B of the U-14 World Cup bound Boys a run for their money, the match ending in a 2-2 tie.
The Boys came from down goals down to rein in CFA’s two-goal cushion thus spoiling the visitors’ party in astute manner.
Komal Thatal shone in the comeback driving his team with some good work playing No. 10 also netting the first goal just after the restart in the 41st minute. Boris Singh equalised for the Boys five minutes later and the scored stayed such till fulltime.
AIFF Technical Director of Academies and Director of Coach Education Scott O’Donell was present for the matches. Matches are of 60-minute duration. Team A are scheduled to play Chandigarh Football Academy next weekend.
