NEW DELHI: Services defeated hosts Maharashtra by a solitary goal in a Group B clash of the Santosh Trophy at the SEC Railway Stadium in Nagpur on Sunday (March 6).
Francis Zoununtluanga made the difference between the two sides in the 90th minute. The victory enabled Services book a semifinal berth after Maharashtra had already booked a spot in the last four in their previous match.
Maharashtra finished their League engagements on 9 points from 4 matches while Services are on 9 from 3 matches.
In another match, Mizoram routed Jammu and Kashmir 4-1. Both the Teams were locked 1-1 at the interval.
Mizoram took the lead as early as the 4th minute through Lal Thathanga only to be pulled back by Farukh Chowdury the very next minute.
Changing over Malswmfela, Laldingngheta and Lalmunsanga scored one apiece as Mizoram won 4-1. Both the Teams have already bowed out of the Competition as Mizoram stay on 4 points from three matches while Jammu and Kashmir are yet to open their account after 3 matches.
