SRINAGAR: Ms. Nuzhat Gull, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, along with Mr. Javid Ur Rahman, Divisional Sports Officer, Central, visited the U-17 National Football Team Camp in Srinagar, on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
During the visit, the two senior officers interacted with players, coaches and officials in the camp.
The All India Football Federation has selected Jammu & Kashmir for the second consecutive year to host the National team camp, aimed at preparing for the upcoming SAFF Championship 2024 in Bhutan and the U-17 AFC Cup qualifiers in Thailand in October 2024. The camp has been ongoing for the last three weeks in Srinagar under head coach Ishfaq Ahmed.
While the SAFF U17 Championship will be played in Thimphu, Bhutan, from September 18 to 28, the AFC U17 Asian Cup Qualifiers are in Thailand (October 23–27), where the Blue Colts will face Brunei Darussalam, Turkmenistan and the hosts.
Ms. Gull congratulated the players on their selection to the prestigious Men U17 National Team, highlighting J&K’s growing role as a hub for national team camps and competitions. She reaffirmed the JKSC's commitment to providing the necessary support to facilitate such events.
