Project Future India Referees kicks-off

AIFF Media Team NEW DELHI: The Project Future Referees Course kicked-off in Pondicherry (Puducherry) today (Saturday, May 16, 2015). The Course which aims at further development of Indian Referees will continue till May 22. Top Referees under the age of 23 and of category 4 & 5 have been nominated by their respective State Associations for the Course. The nominated Referees will undergo a selection process and only the elite will be selected for Project Future India Referees Course. The selected candidates will be trained by Instructors and will partake in two exposure trips in a year for two years. The Course also serves as a platform for the Referees to showcase their ability to control the game and win nominations by AIFF to Project Future Asia of AFC. All India Football Federation flaunts an impressive record of all the nominated candidates making it into Project Future Asia after successfully passing their selection procedures with flying colors through Project Future India Referees Course. Gautam Kar, Head of Referees Department, All India Football Federation expressed his delight with the Course which he feel will help Indian Referees in the "long run." “I am delighted to see the Course kick-off. The Project has been successful in the past 3 years and one can only hope that it will foster more in the years to come,” he told www.the-aiff.com. “The Course will pick the best to represent AIFF Referees at the Asian level. We have had a good outreach in the yester years and the plan which we chalked out has been successful thus far,” he added.
