NEW DELHI: Nirjhar Mitra and Aadit Mehta have been nominated to represent India in the FIFAe World Cup for Football Manager, to be held in Liverpool from August 29 to September 1.

The eight candidates, shortlisted by the FIFA and AIFF (from 28 applicants), participated in the domestic qualification for the FIFAe World Cup for Football Manager.

Nirjhar Mitra, 22, finished top of the table in the domestic qualifiers, which were played between the eight participants in a round-robin format. By finishing top of the qualifiers, Mitra has earned his nomination as the manager for India at the FIFAe World Cup for Football Manager.

Aadit Mehta, 23, finished runners-up in the qualifiers, and will be nominated as the assistant manager for India.
