Netaji Indoor Stadium turned into vaccination centre for footballers, referees in West Bengal

NEW DELHI: West Bengal’s apex football governing body, the Indian Football Association (IFA) kicked off its vaccination drive, to inoculate all the registered players and referees within the state, at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Thursday (June 24, 2021).

The IFA, in collaboration with the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), have rolled out the free vaccinations for the registered, players, referees and ground staff around the game.

The state football governing body expects around 5,000 registered footballers to be inoculated after this vaccination drive.

“It’s a great honour for us at IFA to collaborate with the KMC and the Government of West Bengal that we will be able to vaccinate our players and referees and ground staff."

"We are expecting around 5,000 vaccinations this time, and we hope that this will take us one step closer to vaccinating everyone around the beautiful game,” said IFA General Secretary Mr. Joydeep Mukherjee.
