ANANTAPUR, ANDHRA PRADESH: Manipur made it two wins in two in Group B of the 2024-25 Junior Girls' National Football Championship Tier 1 as they beat West Bengal 2-0 at the RDT Stadium in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, to qualify for the semi-finals.

Tuesday's win coupled with their 3-0 victory over Haryana on the opening matchday means that Manipur cannot be dislodged from the summit of the group no matter what happens in their final group game against Goa due to their superior head-to-head record.

West Bengal held Manipur, a team filled with various India internationals at the youth level, 0-0 until 80 minutes. However, Manipur's quality eventually shone through. Lourembam Menaka Devi broke the deadlock in the 80th minute before Longjam Nira Chanu sealed the deal with a second goal in the 90th minute.

Manipur will face the winner of Group D (Delhi, Odisha, Chhattisgarh or Mizoram) in the semi-final on August 18.

In the morning kick-off, which ultimately turned out to be a dead rubber after Manipur's win, Haryana beat Goa 5-1. Forward Vipanshi scored a hat-trick (36', 45' and 90+4'), while Sapna (52') and Simran (81') added a goal each. Goa could only find a consolation goal via Pearl Fernandes (75').
