JAIPUR: Maharashtra made the final rounds of the 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship for the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy at the Vidyadhar Nagar Stadium on Thursday, October 17, 2024, after a 1-1 draw with Delhi in Group D.
The draw enabled Maharashtra to make the grade on better goal difference though both Maharashtra and Delhi finished with seven points from three matches.
After a barren first half, Maharashtra took the lead through skipper Arya More in the 58th minute, but Delhi equalised in the 78th minute via Rebecca Zamthianmawi. In the other match of Group D earlier in the day, Pondicherry ran out 10-0 winners against Andaman and Nicobar to finish with three points.
While Anbarasi struck thrice, Sunitha, Narmadha, and J Sathya scored two goals each. The other goal was an own goal by Kusum.
