NEW DELHI: Madhya Pradesh defeated Kerala 1-0 while West Bengal came from a goal down to defeat Assam 2-1 in the Group B fixtures of the 37th Sub-Junior National Football Championship at the Ambedkar Stadium in the Capital on April 19, 2016.

After a drab goalless first half, Madhya Pradesh took the lead through Lamjingba Meiti in the 48th minute as he blasted his opportunity into the back of the net. Meiti’s goal proved to be the difference between the two sides in a cagey encounter as the full-time scoreline read 1-0 in Madhya Pradesh’s favour.

Meanwhile, West Bengal continued their stellar form in the Championship and defeated Assam 2-1. Although Assam took the lead in the 8th minute through Uday Bora, West Bengal came back strongly and scored in the 12th minute through Kartick Golder to equalize their deficit.

After the half-time scoreline read 1-1, West Bengal took the lead in the 57th minute as Hassan Ali Molla scored to make it 2-1. The fulltime scoreline read the same.
