SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong FC is all set to host Goan side Sporting Clube De Goa in the 3rd round of the Airtel I-League 2013-14 season at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Shillong on Sunday (October 5).
Lajong have made a good start to the 2013-14 campaign, winning the first match against Dempo SC in Goa 3-0 and then playing out a goalless draw against a strong Pune FC side at home.
And though ‘The Reds,’ are aiming to register their first victory in the Airtel I-League 2013, history books don’t back them at all, especially against the Flaming Oranje. The Shillong side are yet to register a win against Sporting Clube de Goa in the League ever.
However, backed by their vociferous home support, Lajong will go all out to rewrite history. For the record, all matches at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium have witnessed a full house so far in the Airtel I-League.
Sporting Clube, led by Oscar Bruzon, on the other hand would be banking on the same history to register their first win of the Airtel I-League. So far they have drawn one and lost against United SC. Oscar has made it known that he will be ringing in changes in the Sporting line-up tomorrow and stays confident that his team will stand up to the Reds’ challenge.
