Lajong Coach Thangboi Singto stays aware of the challenge but stays a bit worried about midfielder Taisuke Matsugae’s injury. Taisuke suffered an injury in Lajong’s last match against Sporting Clube de Goa and a final call on him would be taken on Wednesday morning.
Nevertheless, he stressed: “We will play to win and it will be a good game of Football.” Singto insisted his Team has had a good start to the season and they want to continue the momentum at any cost.
“In our last match we created many chances but failed to convert. So I feel it’s just a matter of converting those chances and opportunities. East Bengal has got a good squad and we need to be cautious,” Singto added.
On the other hand, the match will mark the debut for East Bengal’s Brazilian Coach Marcos Falopa in the Airtel I-League. “I’ve heard about the crowd and expect it to be a good atmosphere. I expect a good match tomorrow,” Falopa stated.
“My Players are very tired following their AFC campaign but we have some brought some fresh Players with us as we need to balance it,” he added. “Lajong are always a very dangerous side at Home and we not taking them lightly at all.”
“Whenever you play Football, we can have all three results. But we need to begin our campaign on a high and would try to make a winning start in the Airtel I-League,” he maintained.
The kick-off at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is at 3:30 pm.
