All India Football Federation’s U-15 Regional Academy Kolkata presently preparing for U-16 International Tournaments played Santos, a Kolkata District Premier Division Team in a Friendly Match at the Pailan World School Campus. Santos who were represented by U-19 boys, won 3-1.

Down 0-3 at the interval, the Academy boys settled down and reduced the margin in the second half – Sourav converting from a Prosenjit pass. There were a lot of interchanging and passes were exchanged and the score would have been 2-3 had not Sourav’s free-kick hit the post.

Head Coach Goutam Ghosh said: “Nothing can be more heartening for a Coach to see his boys not being fazed by bigger opponents and fighting till the end without deviating from the Team’s philosophy. Such matches are part of their learning process.”
