New Delhi: Kalighat Milan Sangha FC finished second in the preliminary zone of the 2nd Division League 2013/14 from Group A. The Kolkata outfit notched up 11 points out of five games – the same as leaders Royal Wahingdoh FC – but the Shillong outfit registered a better goal difference.
Kalighat, so far unbeaten in the competition is riding high on their Liberian forward James Gbilee – the topscorer for the team with 5 goals. He is followed by Indian forward Zodinliana with 3 goals.
The team have netted 12 goals so far in their Group stage played at the Railway Stadium in Dhanbad, and besides Gbilee and Zodinliana, the Club have registered their goals courtesy of Nigerian goal-poacher Joel Sunday and Indian striker Pahoon Biswas. Both have two goals to their name each.
The youngest players of the squad are Arijit Bagui, Santanu Ghosal, and Bhim Oraon.
The full-fledged preparation for the 2nd Division League Final Round is going on in Kolkata on a daily basis where the team is practicing in the Vivekanda Yuva Bharati Krirangan, Salt Lake, and the Rabindra Sarovar Stadium, Kolkata.
The training sessions primarily consist of situational practice, endurance enhancement and physical training. On top of that, matches are conducted within the team.
