NEW DELHI: India International Jeje Lalpekhlua has put pen to paper for Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan for the upcoming 2014-2015 season, the club has confirmed via an official statement.
“We are pleased to inform that McDowell Mohun Bagan Football Team have roped in Mr. Jeje Lalpekhlua to play for the Mariners in the upcoming 2014-2015 football season,” the statement read.
The agreement was made in the presence of Mr. Debashish Dutta , Director of United Mohun Bagan Football Team Pvt Ltd, and the agreement will be effective from June 2, 2014.
The 23-yer old Mizoram lad who netted a record 13 goals for Indian Arrows and finished as the highest Indian scorer in the 2010/11 Season expressed his glee at the development.
“I am very pleased at the opportunity to play for a Club like Mohun Bagan,” Jeje told www.the-aiff.com.
“It is a big club with a huge fan base and I will try my best to fulfill the expectations that rest on me,” he added.
Jeje plied his trade for Goan outfit Dempo SC in the Airtel I-League last season, scoring a total of five goals.
Jeje is also the AIFF Emerging Player of the Year.
