NEW DELHI: The Indian U-16 National Team defeated Smouha Club of Egypt 3-1 in their second match of the India-Egypt Friendship Cup 2017 in Alexandria, Egypt.
The Indian Colts attacked from the whistle and in the 6th minute Vikram headed the ball home, but the joy was cutshort as the referee disallowed the goal. However, four minutes later, the Colts once again posed a threat to their opponents, but this time Vikram could not do justice to his chance.
In the 16th minute, Rohit Danu handed the Indian Colts the lead as he tapped home a Suraj cross to make the scoreline read 1-0. The half-time scoreline read 1-0 in the Indian U-16s favour.
Changing over, it were there opponents who scored to equalized proceedings in the 68th minute when Abdullah’s shot landed in the back of the Indian net to make it 1-1.
The Indian Colts tried to score the decisive goal and Rohit Danu's header in the 85th minute off a Bekey corner kick gave India the advantage, which the Colts held on to and Rohit Danu completed his hatrick in dying embers of the match as the full-time scoreline read 3-1.
