NEW DELHI: The Indian U-17 World Cup Squad currently on an exposure trip to South Africa drew 1-1 against Black Aces on February 23, 2016 in South Africa.
Coming on the back of a thumping 5-2 win over Supersports United, the Indian Colts controlled the momentum in the opening minutes of the game.
With the match being played in midfield the battle for possession began and in the 32nd minute, Black Aces took the lead against the run of play as the scoreline read 1-0.
The Black Aces were awarded a penalty kick in the dying embers of the first half, but Indian custodian Dheeraj made a top-draw save to deny Black Aces a chance to double their lead.
After the half-time scoreline read 1-0 in favour of the Black Aces, the Indian Colts tried to equalize their deficit as they launched constant raids on the opposition citadel.
In the 51st minute, Sanjeev’s free kick was thwarted by the opposition defence line, after Komal was brought down by an uncanny challenge.
In the 66th minute, the Indian Colts equalized their deficit when Komal blasted his opportunity home after an exquisite through ball by Suresh to put him onto goal, as the scoreline read 1-1.
Shortly after, Boris’s delicious corner kick was cleared away by the opposition defence line for a corner kick, which went abegging.
The Indian Colts took the game by the scruff of its neck and attacked relentlessly in the dying embers of the match, however to no avail, as the full-time scoreline read 1-1.
