NEW DELHI: A 14-member Indian Men’s National futsal squad was announced on Sunday, October 1, 2023, for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup™ 2024 Qualifiers in Tajikistan, in which India will be participating for the first time.
The Team will travel to Dushanbe, Tajikistan on October 5.
India are drawn alongside Tajikistan, Myanmar and Palestine in Group E. Tajikistan is set to host Group E of the qualifiers, which will be held from October 7 to 11. A total of 31 teams are divided into eight groups – seven comprising four teams each, and one containing three.
Each group is being played at a centralised venue in a single round-robin format, with the eight group winners and seven best second-placed teams among all groups will qualify for the final rounds.
These 15 teams will join hosts Thailand in the final round to be played from April 17 to 28, 2024.
The Indian squad:
Goalkeepers: Augustin Savio D’mello, Sayantan Chowdhury, Scott Moraes.
Defenders: Sachin Patil, Jayesh Sutar, George MS Dawngliana and Lalsangkima.
Forwards: David Laltlansanga, Nikhil Rajendra Mali, Abhay Gurung, Bijoy Gosai, Sandeep Oraw, Sandesh Nivrutti Malpote and K Roluahpuia.
